This course will provide you with the skill set needed to become a Family Mediator. In this comprehensive course, you will receive training in the Mediators Without Borders INACCORD® conflict resolution model. You will learn special skills necessary for mediating familial disputes and parent-child issues, including niche topics such as disagreements with aging family members and probate and estate conflicts. Upon successful completion, Mediators Without Borders will award you four individual certificates in Mediation, Applied Mediation Practice, Family Mediation, and Professional Family Mediator. A final exam is optional upon completion of the course.

- Examine the Three Phases and Four Stages of the INACCORD model
- Explore the pre-interview and post interview phases of the INACCORD mediation as applied to family disputes
- Apply the Touchstone Skills of questioning, reflecting, and reframing to simulated mediation cases
- Apply INACCORD surveys to simulated cases and analyze the results
- Examine ways the conflict is generated in families
- Understand theories related to family systems and apply concepts to common disputes
- Understand the mental and physical effects of aging and its effects on families
- Examine probate and estate disputes and how mediation helps bring resolution
- Explore family business disputes and apply mediation to their resolution
- Prepare yourself to work in a legal office, on a human resources team, or in private family mediation practice
