If you have more than a year of HVAC/R experience, this course will prepare you for the next step—certification. HVAC/R technicians are in demand, but certified technicians can earn more and have better career opportunities. This HVAC certification online course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to maintain and troubleshoot complex heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will be provided with hands-on guidance through videos, reading assignments, service call simulations, and practical applications.

With content aligning with the latest industry standards, you will be prepared for the HVAC Excellence or North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification exams by the end of this HVAC training course. You will also receive a voucher package to take the HVAC Excellence exams. You can even get EPA certified through the Section 608 Technician Certification. However, please research your state's requirements prior to enrollment to ensure this course is the right fit for you.

As an added bonus, you will be provided with your own 66-piece tool kit, including a trades tool backpack featuring pliers, wrenches, multimeter, and more – all included in your course registration. This toolkit features tools from well-known tool manufacturers like Channel Lock, Klein Tools, and MidWest.

Certification Exams

By course completion, you will be fully prepared to sit for the HVAC Excellence Core and Professional Technician exams, the NATE Core and Specialty Test exams, and the EPA 608 certification exam.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive an HVAC Excellence ESCO Group Voucher Package that includes:

- 1 Principals of Electrical and Refrigeration Theory (Core)* exam voucher
- 1 Professional Technician exam voucher (Residential Air Conditioning recommended)
- 1 EPA 608 exam voucher

*To sit for the HVAC Excellence Core exam, you must provide two years of documented work experience. Exam proctor fees may apply.

Hardware Requirements: This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

- Optional simulations require a 64-bit operating system

Software Requirements: Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

- PC: Windows 8 or later.
- Mac: macOS 10.6 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible. Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled
- The latest Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader ( free download available at https://get.adobe.com/reader/ )
- Any modern Office suite: Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, OpenOffice, or LibreOffice

Other:

- Reliable internet connection. Broadband cable or highspeed DSL is recommended for optimal experience.
- E-mail account (to be able to register and to receive e-mail from the course system regarding registration, course status, etc.)

##### Prerequisites

Prerequisites: This course is designed for HVAC/R technicians with one-to-two years of industry experience. In addition, you should have a high school diploma or GED.

Certification Requirements: Must have the required work experience to take the NATE or HVAC Excellence certification exams, or currently hold Ready to Work certificates and have 2 years of work experience. However, if you do not have previous work experience in the HVAC/R industry, we recommend taking the HVAC/R Technician course.
