This training workshop is designed for Montessori guides and their assistants to make music a daily part of their classroom. The pedagogy follows human evolutionary pathways of music-making that are accessible to everyone. This is also the way children develop their primal musical instincts, like learning to walk or talk.
Basic skills begin with movements that are natural to children, rhythm that emerges from speech patterns, and singing originating in the universal 2-tone childhood call. Playful strategies encourage independence and stimulate social interaction. The multisensory nature of this elemental approach equips the adult with additional tools to address learning differences and connect with other cultures
The dates for this workshop: Saturdays, March 8, 15, (April 5 optional), May 3, 10, (May 17 optional), all 11am - 1pm ET.
