Online Synchronous Scheduled Sessions

#### Description

In this workshop, we will rigorously study graph analytics and network analytics techniques to   
real-world data to solve real-world problems. This advanced analytics topic will address difficult   
problems and sophisticated techniques applied to graph-like data including graph neural   
networks. Participants are expected to be knowledgeable with discrete math, algorithms,   
basics of machine learning, neural networks, and Python programming language.   
The course will use Python-based Jupyter data science platforms and datasets from online   
resources such as SNAP, Pajek, Kaggle, Network Repository, open-source repositories. Every   
session we will use a proper Jupyter notebook to present, demonstrate and practice graph   
analytics pipelines.   
Workshop Details   
We will cover three Jupyter notebooks every workshop day. In the first hour, the Instructor will   
go over the module, highlighting important points and talking about the theory and the   
implementation. In the second hour, the Instructor and co-Instructor will create Zoom virtual   
discussion rooms and focus on individual Q&A or assistance covering the virtual rooms fairly.   
Students will copy and paste provided modules Jupyter code cells to their individual   
notebooks. This is to make sure students learn every code phrase and detail in provided   
pipelines. In the first hour, the Instructor will go over this general approach to the workshop.   
Students will work on a new assignment every week and receive grading feedback. The   
assignments are to be submitted as Jupyter Notebooks in original format (extension ipynb) file.   
Instructor will hold office hours every week during the workshop period. Date and time TBD.

Hardware Requirements: This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

Software Requirements: Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

- PC: Windows 8 or later.
- Mac: macOS 10.6 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible. Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled
- The latest Adobe Reader/Acrobat Reader ( free download available at https://get.adobe.com/reader/ )
- Any modern Office suite: Microsoft Office, Apple iWork, OpenOffice, or LibreOffice

Other:

- Reliable internet connection. Broadband cable or highspeed DSL is recommended for optimal experience.
- E-mail account (to be able to register and to receive e-mail from the course system regarding registration, course status, etc.)
