Montessori Therapy is a Multidimensional functional complex (MFK) form of therapy which directly supports Inclusion of children, youth and adults in their families, their educational programs and their communities. For Montessori schools, the Montessori Therapist works to build the capacity of the school to include children with more diverse needs.

Montessori therapy is characterized by its holistic support approach and its structured way of working with scientifically developed materials that can be adapted to the needs of the patient. For this reason, in addition to Montessori pedagogy, areas from the disciplines of Montessori curative pedagogy, psychology and medicine are particularly important.

**Beschreibung**

Die Montessori-Therapie ist eine mehrdimensionale funktionale komplexe (MFK) Therapieform, die die Inklusion von Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen in ihren Familien, ihren Bildungsprogrammen und ihren Gemeinschaften direkt unterstützt. Programme und ihre Gemeinschaften. Für Montessori-Schulen arbeitet der Montessori-Therapeut daran die Fähigkeit der Schule aufzubauen, Kinder mit unterschiedlichen Bedürfnissen zu integrieren.

Die Montessori-Therapie zeichnet sich durch ihren ganzheitlichen Förderansatz und ihre strukturierte Arbeitsweise mit wissenschaftlich entwickelten Materialien aus, die an die Bedürfnisse des Patienten angepasst werden können. Aus diesem Grund sind neben der Montessori-Pädagogik vor allem Bereiche aus den Disziplinen Montessori-Heilpädagogik, Psychologie und Medizin wichtig.

**FUNDAMENTALS OF MONTESSORI THERAPY ARE:**  
1. The internationally recognized and proven Montessori pedagogy, developed by the Italian doctor and educator Dr. Maria Montessori.  
2. The current state of knowledge in social pediatrics, genetics, neurophysiology, neuropsychology and psychology.  
3. The current knowledge of developmental rehabilitation about the effects of limitations  
and/or chronic illness on affected persons and their families, caregivers and other contact persons.

**GRUNDLAGEN DER MONTESSORI-THERAPIE SIND:**  
1. Die international anerkannte und bewährte Montessori-Pädagogik, entwickelt von der italienischen Ärztin und Pädagogin Dr. Maria Montessori.  
2. Der aktuelle Stand des Wissens in der Sozialpädiatrie, Genetik, Neurophysiologie,  
Neuropsychologie und Psychologie.  
3. Der aktuelle Wissensstand der Entwicklungsrehabilitation über die Auswirkungen von Einschränkungen und/oder chronischen Erkrankungen auf die Betroffenen und ihre Familien, Betreuer und andere Bezugspersonen.

**TASK OF MONTESSORI THERAPY IS**:

To promote the overall development of the patient by stimulating sensorimotor, cognitive, social and emotional development processes.

- To prevent an imminent mental and/or physical disability.
- To mitigate and/or compensate for an existing disability/limitation or its consequences.
- To support the greatest possible independence of the patient at home, at school and at work environments.
- To support parenting skills, and to develop interdisciplinary cooperation with all caregivers with the aim of facilitating patient inclusion in their living environment.

**AUFGABE DER MONTESSORI-THERAPIE IST:**

- Die Förderung der Gesamtentwicklung des Patienten durch die Stimulation sensorimotorischer, kognitiver, sozialer und emotionaler Entwicklungsprozesse.
- Um eine drohende geistige und/oder körperliche Behinderung zu verhindern.
- Um eine bestehende Behinderung/Einschränkung oder deren Folgen zu mildern und/oder auszugleichen.
- Um die größtmögliche Unabhängigkeit des Patienten zu Hause, in der Schule und am Arbeitsplatz zu unterstützen.
- Um die Erziehungsfähigkeiten zu unterstützen und die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit allen Betreuern zu entwickeln, mit dem Ziel, die Einbeziehung der Patienten in ihr Lebensumfeld zu erleichtern.

#### Learning Outcomes

**TRAINING INCLUDES:**

1. The use of Montessori therapy for motor, cognitive, genetic, social and emotional  
weaknesses and disturbances, for disturbances of perception, and in the case of existing or  
impending limitations.

2. Basics of developmental psychology and psychology, of behavior therapy and systemic  
therapy, and of neurophysiology and neuropsychology.

3. Putting theory into practice: sensitive observation; adaptation of classic Montessori material and additional materials; transfer of the therapy supports and tools into the home environment; guide to interdisciplinary collaboration; Inclusion pedagogy in Children's House and Elementary; testing theory and practice; therapy practice - organization, application and billing models; creating casework; elaboration of material supports for the case child; and supervised implementation of therapy units to create the case work.

4. The use of Montessori therapy for language problems, arithmetic weaknesses, reading and spelling disabilities; for peripheral and central hearing disorders, motor, sensory and mental development disorders; for perceptual disorders; for attention disorders; for behavioral disorders (e.g. autism); for giftedness; and for genetic syndromes.

5.  Montessori for seniors (gerontology).

6.  Instructions for independent work as a Montessori Therapist.

**DAS TRAINING BEINHALTET:**

1. Der Einsatz von Montessori-Therapie bei motorischen, kognitiven, genetischen, sozialen und emotionalen Schwächen und Störungen, bei Wahrnehmungsstörungen und im Falle bestehender oder drohender Einschränkungen.

2. Grundlagen der Entwicklungspsychologie und Psychologie, der Verhaltenstherapie und systemischen Therapie sowie der Neurophysiologie und Neuropsychologie.

3. Theorie in die Praxis umsetzen: sensitive Beobachtung; Anpassung klassischer Montessori-Materialien und zusätzlicher Materialien; Übertragung der Therapieförderungen und -werkzeuge in das häusliche Umfeld; Leitfaden zur interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit; Inklusionspädagogik im Kinderhaus und in der Grundschule; Theorie und Praxis testen; Therapiepraxis - Organisation, Anwendung und Abrechnungsmodelle; Erstellung von Fallarbeit; Ausarbeitung von Materialhilfen für das Fallkind; und supervised Umsetzung von Therapieeinheiten zur Erstellung der Fallarbeit.

4. Der Einsatz von Montessori-Therapie bei Sprachproblemen, Rechenschwächen, Lese- und Rechtschreibschwächen; bei peripheren und zentralen Hörstörungen, motorischen, sensorischen und geistigen Entwicklungsstörungen; bei Wahrnehmungsstörungen; bei Aufmerksamkeitsstörungen; bei Verhaltensstörungen (z.B. Autismus); bei Hochbegabung; und bei genetischen Syndromen.

5. Montessori für Senioren (Gerontologie).

6. Anweisungen für die selbstständige Arbeit als Montessori-Therapeut.
