In this course, students will focus on the work of exploring a particular moment with a client. Students will learn how to facilitate deep exploration of particular moments with clients, enabling the noticing, naming, and discovery of saboteurs and sages that may contribute to client experiences, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. This course includes a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, the science and art of active listening, and perspective taking as crucial to the coaching process. Students will create a coaching profile as a final project for this class, including a coaching philosophy, core values for coaching, personal strengths, and a plan for continual development.
- Attendance is required at all course sessions - sessions will not be recorded to view if absent. (Exceptions may be made for unforeseen emergency situations, but attendance is vital for ICF certification requirements and to support your peers in the cohort.)
