This course offers comprehensive training to help classroom assistants succeed in a Montessori early childhood environment. Tammy Oesting guides participants in examining best practices for adult/child interactions, including observation and the necessary information to abide by the Montessori maxim "follow the child." Physical and social elements that make up a highly effective learning environment are identified and discussed. An overview of child development theories is presented and course participants will have a greater understanding of the Montessori method and its unique and effective approach to teaching children. This course is especially beneficial for support professionals new to their position.
